Welcome to Topaz Class
Year 6
Hello and welcome to our Topaz class page. Here you will find lots of information about all of the exciting learning that will be taking place in year six this year.
We have already had two educational visits; one to Lincoln Cathedral and one conducting geographical fieldwork in Sheffield. We have a visit to the Holocaust Museum and also our residential to look forward to in the summer.
This term in our foundation subjects, we will be exploring circuits and electricity and solving how to fix broken circuits. We will explore e-safety alongside Safer Internet Day and will also be creating our own Roman pottery in Art.
Alongside our exciting foundation curriculum, we will be working hard on our maths and English learning, exploring place value and a range of writing genres. In guided reading, we will be focusing on our class text for the Spring - Roman Boy by Tony Bradman. We are already really enjoying this book!
Our class are already proving to be an excellent bunch of role-models for our younger pupils. Every member of our class has a role within school, providing them with the opportunity to take on responsibilities and develop their self-awareness.
We are excited for the year ahead and can't wait to share more on our class page soon.
