Harvest Food Bank Collection.
As part of our Harvest celebrations the Pupil Governors arranged a collection for the Bassetlaw Foodbank. We researched the important role this charity plays in our communities. We spoke to the Bassetlaw Foodbank directly to ask if they were in need of particular items and they gave us a list of items they needed. We then asked our wonderful North Wheatley families if they could help and as you can see they provided the school with generous donations to give to the Bassetlaw Foodbank.
Many Thanks The Pupil Governor Committee
As part of our Platinum Jubilee celebrations, the pupil governors helped organise a coffee morning for our senior citizens in our community. We asked the community members to bring along photographs and memorabilia that was special to them from previous Royal celebrations and over the last 70 years. The pupils were amazed and intrigued by the items that were bought into school. The community members chatted with the pupils about their memories of the coronation and silver jubilee, writing down memories on vintage postcards which formed part of our Platinum Jubilee display. The pupils discussed the differences between school life today and school life 70 years ago. It was a fantastic morning enjoyed by all.
Macmillan Coffee Morning Friday 24th September
Our Pupil Governors welcomed members of our community at the Macmillan Coffee morning. They served teas and coffees and delicious cakes and cookies to raise funds for Macmillan Cancer Support. They later sold cakes to our parents and children at the end of the school day. All this hard work helped raise £170 for this amazing charity. Thank you to all those who supported this event.
