Welcome to Collective Worship at
North Wheatley Church of England Primary
Welcome to collective worship.
Let us light the candle and join together as we say our liturgy and open our worship ...
Our worships this half term, start with the theme of Ash Wednesday and then Jesus in the desert. We will explore Lenten themes of service, prayer and giving with a final worship that leads us into Holy Week, the last week of term.
We have also sent this year's Lent challenge, ‘24 acts in 40 days’ which has been thoughtfully put together by the Diocese of Southwell and Nottingham. Here is a message from the wonderful team at Diocese to share a little more about how you can get involved this Lent.
'This year we have taken up the idea of looking after ourselves and God’s world. The 24 acts this year relate to physical, relational, mental and spiritual wellbeing. Some have been suggested by members of the Education team and others from the wider diocesan team – Bishop Paul and Bishop Andy have also set a challenge each! We hope that children will enjoy these challenges. They are challenges they can do either at home or at school. We have set it out differently this year into a scrapbook format, encouraging children to collect photos or draw pictures of themselves completing the challenges. We thought that it might be good to have these as part of the legacy for you, and for us, of these times.'
We really hope you enjoy getting involved in this challenge and are encouraging all children to send photos, pictures or a copy of their completed scrapbook, should you like to. We are hoping to have plenty to share with the Diocese.
