North Wheatley Church of England Primary
Believe | Achieve | Thrive
At North Wheatley, we believe that pupil voice is at the heart of our school community.
We encourage children to share their ideas, opinions, and experiences, and we make sure to listen carefully and act on their feedback—after all, it’s their school!
By involving pupils in decision-making, we help them develop confidence, responsibility, and a sense of pride in shaping the life of our school. Their contributions influence everything from classroom learning and wellbeing to wider opportunities and school improvement.
We gather pupil voice in a variety of ways, including:
Half-termly QA sessions with subject leaders and focus groups of pupils
Pupil Governor meetings, both in school and with the Governing Body after school
Wellbeing Champion team meetings, held once a month to support mental health and wellbeing initiatives
Pupil questionnaires, providing every child with the chance to share their views
In addition, pupil voice can be seen in everyday school life. Children contribute ideas for special events, fundraising activities, school values, playtime equipment, and ways to make learning even more exciting.
Listening to our pupils not only makes them feel valued but also ensures our school continues to grow as a place where everyone feels happy, safe, and ready to achieve their best.
