North Wheatley Church of England Primary
Believe | Achieve | Thrive
At North Wheatley C of E Primary School, we use the Gem Project, developed by Dr Tom Robson. The six Gems each represent a learning power that helps children grow into independent, confident, and life-long learners.
Children are awarded Gems when they show these learning powers in action, celebrating their effort and reinforcing positive attitudes to learning.
Diamond – Independence: taking responsibility and making good choices.
Ruby – Kindness: showing care, teamwork, and respect.
Emerald – Resilience: managing frustration and bouncing back from mistakes.
Sapphire – Focus: concentrating and ignoring distractions.
Amethyst – Collaboration: listening and working well with others.
Topaz – Communication: sharing ideas clearly and thoughtfully.
While every child can earn all six Gems daily, each class has a Gem identity to focus on throughout the year. By the time they leave North Wheatley, pupils will have explored all six Gems in depth, embedding strong learning behaviours for the future.
