1:1 Teaching Assistant (LKS2) and Afterschool Provision Leader

NJE Grade 2 Point ?  – 23 hours a week

1:1 Teaching Assistant (LKS2) – Monday-Friday, 12pm – 3pm

Afterschool Provision Leader – Monday to Thursday, 3pm – 5pm

Location: North Wheatley C of E Primary School, Sturton Road, South Wheatley, Retford, Notts.

An exciting opportunity has become available at our fabulous village primary school for a suitably qualified (Cache level 3 or equivalent) SEND teaching assistant and after school leader of our popular ‘Night owls’ provision. 

The role will include:

  • providing 1:1 learning and behaviour support under the guidance of the class team and SENDco.
  • to support the development of the pupil’s social, emotional and behavioural skills to enable independent access to a broad and balanced curriculum.  
  • working in partnership with the Night Owls team to lead activities as part of the after-school provision.

We are seeking a committed and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant with experience of working with pupils with additional needs, to join our dedicated team.

  • has experience of supporting children with a range of complex special educational needs and is confident in dealing with challenging behaviours
  • is motivated and keen to learn; can be imaginative, creative and use their initiative
  • can work flexibly as part of a high performing team

  • will bring a sense of energy, enthusiasm and passion to the role; is a good communicator with colleagues and parents
  • is talented at building relationships, is a good communicator and is calm, compassionate and considerate in their approach
